In addition to his designer/estimator role, Kyle has also been learning and taking over scheduling from semi-retired company founder Doug Porter. Kyle has a master’s degree in architecture from Wentworth and experience in commercial and residential building in a planning role. He brings experience problem solving and collaboration to WBA.
In his first year, Kyle has appreciated WBA’s combination of professionalism and flexibility. “Each individual’s experiences of how to do things are welcome here, but there’s also a known system that works so we don’t have to constantly try to reinvent the wheel,” he says. “There’s a process for everything here.”
Outside of work, Kyle enjoys time with his wife and two-year-old. He’s a “sports guy,” having played baseball in school and still participates in several softball leagues. At home, he has a dog, a cat and several 50-gallon freshwater aquariums with 15 to 20 different species of fish. “I originally wanted to be a marine biologist,” he says.
Fun Fact: “I still have my first job, which I started when I was 15. I’m 27 now.” Every Saturday morning, Kyle coaches soccer for two and three year olds, including his son. “It’s fun and not super rigorous, more like playing games. I’m at a point now in life where I’m doing it just because I enjoy it.”
